High above Matanzas Creek, overlooking beautiful Bennett Valley in Sonoma County, California, is ALTA RIDGE VINEYARDS. This small boutique vineyard is dedicated solely to the creation of a superb Merlot. Intense mid-day sun and cool ocean breezes over superb terrain combine to offer the consumer a wonderful soft wine with a real palette delight.
Our Unique Wine
ALTA RIDGE and 25 BRIX represents a special blend created from our hilltop vineyard, produced and blended to yield strong varietal character; a bold expression on the palette and a pleasing complex wine. We use one third new oak from France, Hungary and America for delivery of oak flavors without having them dominate the wine. To this base we added 2% cabernet franc to broaden the product and finally, 1.5% syrah to enhance the silky texture and to provide a richer finish on the palette. The Merlot grapes are 100% estate grown at Alta Ridge Vineyards in Sonoma County, California in wonderful Bennett Valley at an elevation of 850 feet. They are blessed with hot summer days and cool nights and are protected by a constant breeze from the ocean.
